With a love for agriculture and an appreciation of Alberta’s high-quality grains, David Farran created the province’s first craft distillery. As president of Eau Claire Distillery, Farran makes it a priority to use local wherever possible. Being located in Turner Valley allows him to be as close to his ingredients as possible so Eau Claire can offer premium products while also having the ability to trace each batch. The distillery was recently awarded a bronze medal from the American Distilling Institute for their Parlour Gin. Perhaps most importantly, Farran paved the path for future distilleries in the province through his battles with the provincial and local governments.
