After the release of Three Point Vodka last summer, there was definitely a buzz in the air and we want to thank those retailers who were among the first to proudly show off Alberta’s first small batch craft spirit on their shelves. Leading into fall, we launched Parlour Gin winning critical acclaim, including a 91 point rating from The Globe and Mail and most recently, a finalist in the American Distilling Institute Awards.
Soon after, we expanded our products to our neighbors to the North, Edmonton, where we were greeted with incredible enthusiasm by their blossoming cocktail culture. For Christmas – we concocted and released our first seasonal offering, Gin Rummy, which flew off the holiday shelves. Paired with coffee, eggnog or straight up – it was a warm, spiced spirit that teased many a palates (and likely made Rudolph’s nose even brighter).
Featuring Pickly Pear Cactus, indigenous to Southern Alberta, our latest seasonal offering, Spring Equinox, is exceeding that success, fast becoming a summer patio favourite for Albertan ‘Social Animals’ coming out of hibernation. And although it took a little longer than anticipated, our new Visitor Centre and Tasting Room is now open and we welcome all to the Cowboy Trail for tours and tastings. Feels like we’re getting it done right – and fortunately, a few of our customers kindly told us so. Here’s what they had to say:
“I would recommend to any consumer that is looking to support local businesses that they should check out Eau Claire Distillery’s fantastic line-up of hand-crafted products.”Troy Withers, Store Manager, Highlander Wine & Spirits, Seton Crescent SE.
“We have proudly stocked the outstanding products from Eau Claire Distillery since their first release. We love being able to offer our customers quality products that are both local and delicious. The Three Point Vodka has a Marilyn Monroe quality to it…voluptuous yet elegant.” – Jesse Willis, Proprietor, Vine Arts Wine and Spirits
“Having tasted the spirits from Eau Claire distillery, I was more than pleasantly surprised. Not only are they the first craft distillery in Alberta, their products are also top notch. I’m especially a fan of Parlour Gin. The nose invites a curious suspicion and leads to an extremely floral palate. Mixing this spirit is easy! After recently taking a tour of the distillery I was sold.
Creating such incredible products out of 100% Alberta ingredients speaks wonders for this beautiful province. I am personally grateful for what great work they are fulfilling at Eau Claire and am tremendously excited for what is in store for the future.” – Tyler Gushaty, North 53, Winner ‘Best Cocktail List’ and ‘Best New Restaurant in Edmonton 2014’, WHERE magazine
“As an independent retailer who believes strongly in supporting local businesses, it was great news to hear rumours that Alberta was getting a new craft distillery. After the initial sales meeting with Marty, and learning the story and background of the team involved, it was an easy decision to bring in the products of Eau Claire Distillery.
Both Parlour Gin and Three Point Vodka are great examples of their unique style, and the first seasonal special, Gin Rummy, was fun, inspired, and a hit whenever we offered customers a sample. I can’t wait to see what other creative concepts they dream up.” – Tara Smith, Wine & Spirit Purchaser, Sherbrooke Liquor
