As Canada’s most awarded distillery, we’re pleased to announce the launch of our newest Single Malt Whisky: Batch 006!
To celebrate six years of success, we’re proud to release our very first six-year-old batch, marking an exciting move toward older batches in our Single Malt Whisky Program. “We are so proud of this incredible six-year-old whisky,” says Caitlin Quinn, Master Distiller, Eau Claire Distillery. “This additional time aged has brought out a new complexity to Batch 006, resulting in a very dynamic Single Malt Whisky with exciting new depth of flavour. Fans of our Single Malt Whiskies will recognize traditional Eau Claire flavours with an exciting twist.”
About Batch 006
Batch 006 was aged in New European (Hungarian Oak), Ex-Sherry (French Oak) and Ex-Bourbon (American Oak) barrels for six years, then blended together to create this exceptional expression. Eau Claire whisky fans will notice similarities to previous batches with that signature Eau Claire Distillery flavour palate – soft, easy-drinking and gently complex.
Nose: caramel, raspberry, green apple, saline finish
Taste: butterscotch, spice – cloves, white pepper

Why six years?
Eau Claire Distillery’s Single Malt Whisky is unique to Alberta. The province’s arid climate lends itself to a unique spirit aging process for Single Malt Whisky, with variation in temperature and humidity throughout the year the spirit concentrates and ages more rapidly than in more tepid climates such as Scotland. For that reason, an age statement of six years offers a new level of complexity, depth and flavour that is similar to older whiskies from other regions. We are excited to experiment with even older whiskies as we continue to grow and mature as a whisky distillery. Our Single Malt Whisky program has recently won
Canada Single Malt Distillery of the Year and
Double Gold at the
2022 New York International Spirits Competition and
Gold at the
2022 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Batch 006 is now available through the Eau Claire Distillery
website, Tasting Room and Calgary Farmers’ Market locations, and select liquor retailers across Alberta.
