ARMAGNAC
Bonjour brandy!
This expression is a true reflection of Alberta'scharacter — bold yet balanced. The time in Armagnac casks brings a beautifully rounded dept to our Single Malt, enhancing the floral and spice notes in a way that's both elegant and memorable.
Cask Series Whisky - Armagnac
As we celebrate our Anniversary Whisky, I reflect on the unique sense of place that defines Eau Claire Distillery. Nestled in Turner Valley, our high-altitude location and Alberta-grown barley, paired with pure Rocky Mountain water, create a whisky with unparalleled depth and character.
This whisky embodies the land, community, and craftsmanship at the heart of Eau Claire. Thank you for being part of our journey over the past ten years—here’s to many more.

Armagnac Finished
Armagnac is a distinct type of brandy that comes from the Gascony region in southwest France. Like Cognac, it's made from distilled wine — but there are a few key differences that make it unique:
Small Batch & Rustic: Armagnac is typically produced in smaller quantities and often by family-run estates, giving it a more artisanal and earthy character.
Distillation Style: It’s usually distilled only once in a traditional continuous still (called an alembic armagnacais), which preserves more of the natural flavor and complexity of the grapes.
Aged in Oak: It’s aged in French oak barrels, where it develops deep notes of dried fruit, spice, vanilla, and subtle wood smoke.
Flavor Profile: Compared to Cognac, Armagnac tends to be richer, more robust, and more rustic, making it perfect for cask-finishing whisky — adding layers of spice, fruit, and warmth.
