years in the making

Since the beginning, it has been our goal at Eau Claire Distillery to become a renowned whisky distillery. Like all good things, whisky takes time – at least three years plus one day! We’ve been putting spirits away in barrels since 2013, resulting in an incredible whisky program that we began releasing in 2016 with Batch 001 of our Single Malt Whisky. Since then, we’ve expanded our whisky offerings to include everyday whiskies like Rupert’s Exceptional Canadian Whisky and Stampede Canadian Rye Whisky, as well as award-winning single cask and single malt whiskies.

Our first 6 year batch release, aged separately in New European (Hungarian Oak), Ex-Sherry (French Oak) and Ex-Bourbon (American Oak) barrels, then blended together to create a new, exceptional blend. With sweetness up front, lots of fruit flavours apparent on the palate and a spicy, long lingering finish, our Eau Claire spirit truly comes into it’s own with this release.

Time Honoured Tradition

Every one of our small batch whiskies is produced using barley we grow and harvest ourselves. Unlike any other distillery, we quite literally raise our whisky from seed and see it through to fine, aged and balanced final product.

Cask No.148

This single cask whisky, originally aged in Ex-Bourbon barrels, hand chosen by Master Distiller Caitlin Quinn to be finished in a Ruby Port cask to yield a special whisky experience. This single malt whisky highlights flavours of chocolate, red fruit, clove and cinnamon while complementing the lingering dryness associated with a Port finish. Cask N°148 is another taste of the diverse flavour profiles from Eau Claire, one of Alberta’s internationally awarded whisky distilleries. We are thrilled to share this truly magnificent whisky.
